Latex clothing rewards careful handling. The right routine protects its elasticity, surface and color while reducing the risk of premature damage.
Clean it soon after wear
Rinse the garment in clean, lukewarm water. Use a cleaner specifically intended for latex when needed, and avoid household solvents, bleach and harsh detergents. Gently move the garment through the water instead of scrubbing the surface.
Dry both sides completely
Let excess water drain away, then dry the inside and outside at room temperature. Keep latex away from radiators, hair dryers and direct sunlight. Moisture left in folds can contribute to odor and surface changes.
Use the right dressing product
A compatible latex dressing aid can reduce friction when putting on close-fitting garments. Do not pull with fingernails or jewelry; use the flat of your hands and work gradually.
Polish only with latex-safe products
Natural latex is not mirror-glossy by default. Apply a small amount of latex polish evenly with a soft, lint-free cloth. Test an unfamiliar product on a discreet area first.
Store cool, dark and separated
Store clean, fully dry garments away from heat, sunlight and ozone sources. Dark and strongly colored latex can transfer color to lighter pieces, so separate them. Avoid prolonged contact with copper, brass and some metal accessories because staining may occur.
