Thickness is one of the first decisions in latex product development. It changes not only durability, but also the way a garment moves, fits and feels.
Lightweight latex
Thinner sheet latex creates a close, fluid fit and is often selected for delicate garments or designs that need a softer drape. It can require more careful handling during dressing and production.
Medium-weight latex
A medium thickness is a versatile starting point for dresses, tops, leggings and many bodysuits. It balances flexibility, structure and everyday handling.
Heavy latex
Thicker latex creates more structure and resistance. It can suit outerwear-inspired pieces, belts, reinforced panels and designs where a sculptural silhouette matters.
Thickness is only part of the specification
The correct choice also depends on pattern construction, stretch direction, body area, seam design, color and intended use. A project may combine more than one thickness to improve comfort or reinforce specific zones.
For OEM development, tell your supplier how the garment should look and move—not only the number you have in mind. A sample is the best way to confirm the result before production.
